CUSTOMER REVIEWS – WHAT OUR GUESTS HAVE TO SAY!
“A great place to stay with Wild West character, nestled between small mountains. The small cabins were very comfortable and had great front porches to watch spectacular sunsets and sunrises! My wife and I highly recommend it to other High Adventurer travelers! We will definitely be back next time we visit in the Big Bend area!” – Jim N.
“The Wow factor is rather high here. The setting is excellent. So quiet and peaceful. Accommodations were very good. Liked the way one reviewer put it “ basic luxury “. Met some really nice people that really enhanced the enjoyment of the place. Spent a lot of time around the camp fire. Had a great time. Wish we were closer. If so we would come back soon. Will definitely come back sometime. Highly recommended.” – Wayne
“We were very pleasantly surprised by our stay at Ten Bits. The listing was detailed and accurate. The peaceful evenings, views and accommodations were just what we needed. Remote but conveniently close enough to the park. Communication with the hosts was quick and easy. We really enjoyed our stay.” – Rebecca M.
“The property was remote and quiet. We walked out our door and had an amazing view. The stargazing was spectacular at night!” – Amy
“First time in the Big Bend area was an experience. We enjoyed staying at the ranch, it was very unique and special. We had everything we needed, would recommend others to stay there. Comfortable beds, hot showers, big skies and lots of stars were just a few of the things one can enjoy while at the ranch. We hiked around the property with our dog, and spent some time at the shooting range. Thank you Sis for letting us stay.” – Berri P.
“Love the view, quiet and the night sky was amazing. Everything we needed was available. This is our second stay and will return.” – Daniel B.
“The pictures of this place don’t do it justice. This facility and room were incredibly clean, updated, and had everything you could need. Incredible value for the quality and views!” – Amber A.
“Very nice private property. Beautiful night skies. They have really done a nice job to make this off the grid property. Cantina is very convenient and well stocked for continental breakfast. Had a problem with the heat pump the first night and Cowboy came over and corrected the problem. Very responsive. Really enjoyed our stay there. Would stay there again if come back to Terlingua.” – Mike M.
“Best place to stay while visiting Big Bend period!” – David L.
“I’m from Texas. Been going to Big Bend for 40+ years. Long story short: this is an INCREDIBLE property and is an amazing little slice of Texas. The location is excellent. Just an hour outside of Alpine, and just over 20 minutes to stores / restaurants / and the Big Bend entry point, it could not be better. Yes, there is a dirt road you drive down for about two miles to get there. Any passenger car will be fine, just take your time. Yes, your car will get dusty. Yes, that is part of a real Big Bend experience. The setting is right out of a Western. There are NO visible structures or lights anywhere in any direction. You feel like you could have gone back 150 years. The rock formations are incredible and like some of the best beautiful areas in the national park. But it is YOUR park while you are staying there. The star gazing is a 10 out of 10. I have been all over the world, and I have never seen better. The first night we arrived, I could hardly believe the display of stars. Felt like I was floating in space (which we are, but it is rare to feel like you are truly IN space). The facilities are top notch. We stayed in the Blacksmith cabin, and it was super clean (zero bugs by the way). King bed is comfortable. TV has all the cable channels you need. Wifi and cell service was surprisingly good and solid. The fridge and microwave are convenient, and they supply all of the water you need. I am out of characters, but in summary: 10 out of 10 in all ways.” – Vincent S.
“This was the perfect peaceful getaway for my love and I. Little did I know it would be the place he would propose. I couldn’t think of a better spot by the fire, under the stars with the extraordinary backdrop. This place is a gem.” – Jessica L.
“We wanted a place after we left Big Bend on our way out of town. This place was perfect. We were in the Blacksmith Shop and it was just great! The shared kitchen area was stocked with much more than we expected. It was a little bit windy for a fire in the pit but we watched the stars anyway. They have thought of everything. The drive in really wasn’t that bad. We would highly recommend!” – Greg & Deanna B.
“We had a wonderful 1 night stay at Ten Bits Ranch the night before we went backpacking in Big Bend! The instructions were clear and so much helpful information was given to us. We especially loved the kitchen area which was a great bonus! We will definitely book here again when in the area!” – Verified Traveler
“If you are looking for a place where you can enjoy the wilderness and at the same time feel at home, book XBR (Ten Bits Ranch) immediately! It’s equipped with all the amenities you need for a wonderful experience with your family and friends. We loved every part of our experience at this phenomenal location so close to Big Bend. The ranch is in the middle of some of the most exquisite scenery around the Big Bend National Park. It’s remotely located to give you the most brilliant night sky experience ever and only 15 minutes drive to Study Butte, the closest town where you can find gas, groceries and restaurants. XBR has modern amenities and feels super secure. What we liked and appreciated the most about the ranch is that it’s run on solar panels and harvests rain water. The Terlingua community is very conscious about the conservation of precious resources including water and electricity. Being a frequent visitor to the park, we were pleasantly surprised with the unique experience at XBR. Cowboy and Sis have impeccable communication and helped us with every question we had about the place as well as the surroundings. Getting in and out of the ranch was super easy and if you have a 4×4 you will love the dirt road experience! There is plenty of wildlife around during dusk and dawn and once you light the wood and gaze at the night sky, you realize the true value of XB ranch.” – Cesare
“We stayed there 4 nights with our 21 month-old daughter to visit Big Bend national park.
Amazing location, outstanding views, great amenities. We strongly recommend XBR!” – Guilaume
“One of the best hotel experiences we’ve had. This is a very neat little Old West town that has luxury accommodations, complete with fast WiFi and Dish TV. Fire pit was great too. Very nice touches throughout. Would recommend to anyone going to Big Bend!” – James
“Greetings – Thank you, Thank you! I want to tell everyone I know about the amazing beauty of Ten Bits Ranch, but then again I don’t want to tell anybody because I don’t want this wonderful place to become too busy and filled up. I will tell people about it though because it was the most amazing gift to my wife and me. We spent hours each night laying on our backs staring at the stars. Everywhere we looked brought a sense of healing through the beauty of our surroundings. As we traveled into the park and up to the Chisos Mountains, we became even more grateful for our amazing find of Ten Bits Ranch. Our stay at the Bank felt like home. It was over the top comfortable. Our only regret was that we did not stay longer. My wife and I are so thankful that you have the vision to share this beauty with others. It is a lifegiving spot that drew us closer to each other and to our Creator. I will be counting the days until our return. My son just married a girl from El Paso so we may be coming back to see grandchildren at some point. However, no matter what happens I will long to return. We live in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina. If you ever plan to come our way we would love to show you around. Please know that we have been blessed beyond our dreams and that God met us at your ranch and renewed our hearts with hope for this transitional time in our lives.” – Peter and Jackie
“Ten Bits Ranch was the perfect spot for spontaneous getaway to Big Bend. We were close enough to drive to Terlingua and Big Bend National Park without thinking twice, but remote enough to enjoy peace and quiet and the brilliant night sky. Though remote, Sis and Cowboy were in perfect communication and provided everything you’d ever need during your stay – and more!” – JB
“Amazing place to stay. Off the grid but provides everything you may need. Very clean and very well maintained. A lot of attention to detail.” – Maria
“Howdy, Sis! Just wanted to email you and congratulate you on your hidden gem in Ten Bits. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to come visit again soon — super cool location and rustic getaway. Thanks again!” – Stephen
