Ten Bits Ranch is your own private National Park without all the rules and restrictions of public lands. The Barber Shop (Room #9) is a private casita with one king bed, air conditioning, electric heat, gas log fireplace, WIFI, satellite television, mini refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, and a spacious full private bathroom, all in an old Western town setting.
Guests may have a complimentary self-serve continental breakfast or prepare your own meal 24/7 in the fully equipped guest kitchen and dining area in the shared Cantina space.
Ten Bits Ranch is 15 minutes from Study Butte/Terlingua, 20 minutes from the Big Bend National Park entrance, and 20 minutes from the historic Terlingua Ghost Town. The Ten Bits Ranch Barber Shop (Room #9) is part of an old West town themed setting. There is a Bank, Schoolhouse, Gun Shop, General Store, Steakhouse, Hattery, Gazette, Courthouse, Saloon, Hotel, Barber Shop, Mercantile, Harness Shop, Blacksmith and Jail. The Barber Shop has its own private fire pit outside the back door with a beautiful view of Hen Egg Mountain.
There is a guest shared Cantina dining area with a full kitchen for your use. You may save a significant amount of time and money in Big Bend area lodging by preparing your own meals in the shared Cantina kitchen. The Cottonwood grocery store is just 12 miles south on the way into the National Park. You may purchase groceries there to prepare your own meals in the shared Cantina.
Ten Bits Ranch has everything that you need to be comfortable (WiFi, air conditioning, electric heat, gas log fireplace, satellite television). The entire property is off grid and powered by the one of the largest (57.6 kW) privately owned solar power systems in Texas.

Since Ten Bits Ranch is completely off grid and located on 550 private acres, there are no close neighbors and no ground lights to obscure the perfectly dark night sky. The amazing solitude is extremely quiet and peaceful day or night. If you come to Ten Bits Ranch when the moon cycle is low (dark), after 20 minutes (for your eyes to adjust), the stars at Ten Bits Ranch will appear to surround you like a blanket. Be sure to watch for shooting stars. There is a shooting star in view at Ten Bits Ranch almost every week. Ten Bits Ranch offers a truly private, unique, off grid, dark sky star gazing experience that few people have the opportunity to see in person. The craggy Chimney Rock Mountain on Ten Bits Ranch blocks out a beautiful black jagged silhouette in the blanket of stars.
