About The Ranch

The Ranch

Ten Bits Ranch was the vision and creation of Steve and Jennifer Wick in 2002.  Steve was inspired by viewing old Western movies while living in the single small cabin on the property.  After focused research, the design of the town and buildings was drawn out during many, many Happy Hours at the La Kiva bar.  Steve and Jennifer and their La Kiva friends then worked in the Texas sun to build the Ten Bits Cowboy Ranch you see today.

Ten Bits Ranch is located in the Chihuahuan desert wilderness.  The Ranch property includes craggy, desert badlands as well as local “Garden of the Gods” which mirror its more famous Colorado cousin.  Views in all directions are gorgeous and our remote location makes us the perfect place to kick back and relax.

Renewable Energy

The Ten Bits Ranch runs completely off-grid on solar power.  Abundant sunshine makes the Big Bend of Texas a great place to use photovoltaics renewable energy.  Our Outback Power system is state-of-the-art and we offer almost all of the conveniences you would expect without the unsightly power poles or having to deal with unexpected outages.  During your stay, you will likely not notice that you are off-grid.
